Food Drives

Help With Food Drives!

Food For Thought hosts food drives at grocery stores throughout Sonoma County. A single food drive typically yields between 200 and 500 of our most needed items, generating $2,500 to $4,500 in food and funds. That translates to you, as a volunteer, generating roughly $500 per hour for our community!

How you can make a difference:

  • Volunteer Your Time: Greet shoppers with “wish lists” of our most needed items and enthusiastically accept donations as people exit.
  • Volunteer Your Vehicle: Larger trucks, vans, or cargo space are needed to collect full bins at the end of each food drive and transport them back to Food For Thought.
  • Volunteer as a Team: We can create a special food drive for corporations, families, and student groups based on your timing and location, or you can “adopt” one of our existing drives staffing it with your members.
  • Financial Contributions: Every donation helps us to procure and distribute more food items to families. Click here to donate!

Food drive shifts run from 10:00 am–12:30 pm, 12:30–3:00 pm, and 3:00–5:00 pm during each event. Pick a day(s) and time(s) that work for you and sign up to help out! Click here to view our food drive calendar.
