Lucy Barnett brings over 30 years experience working for hospice, initially as a Home Health Aide, then volunteer coordinator, and eventually as a fundraiser. As Director of Development for Sutter Care at Home Hospice Lucy oversaw all aspects of fundraising including direct mail, special events, bingo, thrift stores, donor development, major gifts and legacy giving. She worked directly with the Human Race team at the Volunteer Center to encourage businesses to “adopt” a non-profit and create lasting partnerships. “There is joy in helping others. Assisting people to find their highest purpose through giving is very satisfying.” Lucy’s connection to the community includes being Awards Chair for National Philanthropy Day through her role on the Association of Fundraising Professionals Board and is Fund Committee Chair as a Board member for the Forestville Planning Association. She enjoys being in the garden, reading, dancing and sharing meals with husband Bob Hardcastle, family and friends.
