Food FAQs
We’re not a kitchen and we don’t prepare and serve meals. We give away weekly groceries and nutritional supplements. We can supply frozen meals and liquid protein supplements when they’re requested by a doctor.
One of the first things people notice when they visit Food For Thought is that we really value nutritious, quality food. It’s in our organic gardens and stacked on the produce and bread racks in our lobby.
This is not a “government block of cheese” kind of place.
We place a premium on organic and locally grown and produced foods, stocking these whenever possible.
In 2009, we expect to give away more than half a million dollars worth of food.
We’ll buy approximately $260,000 of that with fundraised money. And, we expect another $250,000 worth of food will be donated to us, either through our Food Drive program, or by businesses and individuals.
If you have a business and have surplus food you’d like to donate, or if you’re an individual who is cleaning out cupboards, harvesting from your garden, or would like to purchase and donate food, click here.
