Dining Out for Life

We are excited about this year being the 10th Anniversary for the Dining Out For Life event throughout Sonoma County.  The event always falls on the Thursday after Thanksgiving, which is December 1 for 2011, and happens to be WORLD AIDS DAY. Particiating Sonoma County restaurants will donate 25% or 50% of their sales for the day to Food For Thought that day.

Restaurants

We always hope to grow the event each year by confirming the return of our existing restaurants and adding new restaurants.  The Restaurant Contract and Information Form can be downloaded here, printed out and mailed or faxed to us at:

Food For Thought, P. O. Box 1608, Forestville, CA 95436 or Faxed to 707-887-1440

Ambassadors

We have an invitation for you to be an Ambassador for Food For Thought. Ok, so as a friend of Food For Thought, you probably already are our ambassador ... and we love you for that.

This is something very specific. We have signed up 80 Dining Out for Life restaurants in the County of Sonoma and we are recruiting Ambassadors for each one of those eateries ... so can we talk?

Dining Our for Life is the biggest fund raiser of the year for Food For Thought and this year's event happens to fall on World AIDS Day, December 1st - a Thursday. Some restaurants serve all three meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and some only Dinner. We are going to make sure that someone is there at every meal to say 'thanks' to diners who are eating out on World AIDS Day - when Food For Thought gets a direct donation of a minimum of 25% of their bill.

We plan to conduct Ambassador trainings in Sonoma and here at the Food Bank in mid-November to talk about how to be a good host at assigned restaurants. Like to eat out? - then this is your night to shine! Please call Elisa if you want to know more or can sign on for one of our restaurants - at 707-887-1647 x103 or email her at volunteer@fftfoodbank.org ... THANKS!

In 2010, over $100,000 was raised and more than 5,000 diners were served on the ONE day of Dining Out for Life in Sonoma County.
