Stack of Colorful Gourd Artpiece

One of Sonoma County’s most lively and inspiring harvest events, Calabash -- A Celebration of Gourds, Art, and the Garden -- has grown over the last 10 years to become a signature fundraising event for the food bank. Co-sponsored by the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, Calabash features the very best of Sonoma County's bounty while raising much needed funds for our food and nutrition programs. Over 100 artists have been invited to participate this year, including many well-known Sonoma County and Bay Area artists; all bring their unique talents, sensibilities and magic to the gourd form.

Jester Head Gourd ArtpieceFew events rival Calabash for color, creativity and true enjoyment. Guests enjoy viewing and bidding on unique gourd art, delicious food and wine, live music played on gourd instruments, and strolling through our gardens which are at their peak this time of year. It is truly a celebration of the creativity, generosity, and beauty that our community has to offer.

The Eleventh Annual Calabash took place on Food For Thought’s beautiful grounds in downtown Forestville on Sunday October 2. Click here for a list of this year's event sponsors.
