Allan received his BA degree from the University of Illionis, his Bachelor of Laws degree from Stanford University and served as a Commissioned Officer in the US Army (active and reserve) Judge Advocate General. He was admitted to the California State bar in 1957 and to law practice in the US Supreme Court in 1980 and has practiced law since 1958 emphasizing business, contract and real estate matters and all aspects of California and interstate family law. He is currently active in mediation and arbitration of both civil and family law matters.
Allan is also a principal of Mendo Realty of Mendocino with extensive experience in real estate litigation, investment, development and financing. He is past board president and board president of numerous nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles and Mendocino Counties, and currently serves as Vice President of the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, and as President of Food for Thought.
